TaleYou

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and TaleYou when you use taleyou.app. By creating a story or buying a book, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy.

What TaleYou is

TaleYou creates a personalized digital book, delivered as a PDF: a story written and illustrated for a child, from what you tell us about them. You get it in two versions, one to read on a phone or computer and one to print at home on Letter paper.

Who can use TaleYou

You must be an adult (18 or older). When you create a story, you confirm that you're the child's parent or legal guardian, and that you allow their information, and their photo if you upload one, to be used to create the book.

Seeing the story, paying and getting the book

  • You see the story's title and cover before you pay. You pay once: there's no subscription.
  • The price is shown in US dollars before you pay, and the price on the checkout page is what you pay. Prices may change, for example when a launch price ends on the date shown next to it.
  • Stripe processes the payment on its own checkout page. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • After you pay, we illustrate the whole book, usually in about 15 minutes. It shows up on screen and in your inbox.
  • If something goes wrong and we can't finish your book, we'll finish it or give you a full refund.

Refunds

Not happy? Full refund within 30 days, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy.

Your information and your photo

You keep any rights you have in what you send us. You give us permission to use what you tell us about your child, and the photo if you upload one, only to create your book, deliver it to you and help you with it. We delete the photo as soon as the cover is ready, or within 7 days if the story is not finished. Our Privacy Policy explains the rest.

How the book is made

Each book is written and illustrated from scratch with the help of AI services. The drawing may not look exactly like your child, and a page may have small mistakes. If you're not happy with your book, the 30-day guarantee applies.

Using your book

Your book is for you and your family: read it, print it and share it with the people you love. Please don't sell it or use it commercially.

Acceptable use

When you use TaleYou, please don't:

  • send a photo or information you don't have the right to share;
  • ask for content that isn't right for a children's book, such as hateful, sexual or violent content;
  • use other people's characters, brands or work without their permission;
  • try to break, overload or copy the site, or to open stories that aren't yours.

We may refuse to create a book that breaks these rules.

Our content

The TaleYou name, logo and site, and the way our books are designed, belong to us.

Disclaimers and liability

We work to keep TaleYou available and your book on time, but the service is provided “as is”, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about TaleYou is limited to the amount you paid for the book the claim is about. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, where TaleYou's operator is based, without taking away the protection of the consumer laws of the state where you live. If you have a problem, please email support@taleyou.app first, so we can try to solve it together.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version posted here, with its date, applies to new orders.
